When party demands conflict with the interests of their constituents or with constitutional duty, the Constitution must prevail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Fulfilling these responsibilities requires courage.<\/strong> Elected officials must be willing to take action \u2014 even when it means resisting party pressure, breaking with political convenience, or standing alone.
